Atticus is the all in one formatting tool to help you get your book and ebook ready in less time. In this section, we will go over how to customize your (1) book and (2) ebook versions.
1. CUSTOMIZING YOUR BOOK.
When creating your print edition, Atticus offers a number of different options to make the interior of your book truly yours.
Atticus comes with a number of different themes we get to choose from.
This setting lets us control the overall look of the chapter pages. We can select what chapter details should be displayed, as well as choose from different looks for our chapter numbers.
Here, we can select the look of our paragraphs, whether we want drop caps, have our first line indented for fiction, or spaced for nonfiction.
An ornamental break is a great way to break up the text, and indicate some kind of change within our writing.
Atticus offers a number of pre-loaded options we can choose from.
HEADER & FOOTER
The header & footer section allows us to choose how we want the author name and title to be displayed. We also get to select where we want our page numbers to start.
Here, we get to select our font and font size, set our margins, and our paper trim size.
To preview the print version in Atticus, simply select PRINT in the preview device dropdown menu.
2. CUSTOMIZING YOUR EBOOK.
We can customize our ebook version quickly and easily by using the dropdown menus displayed above the preview window.
Using the right dropdown menu displayed above the preview window, we are able to choose from a number of different fonts as well as different font sizes.
Using the left dropdown menu displayed above the preview window, we are able to choose from a number of different devices.
