How to Install on a Mac Computer
Welcome to Atticus. One of the significant features of Atticus is that you can install a Progressive Web App (PWA) onto your computer. That way, you can access Atticus in your applications folder or your task bar without having to log in on a browser.
Plus, if you do this, you can open up a project and then be able to disconnect from the internet and keep writing or formatting in that project. You’ll only need to reconnect to the internet to either change projects or format. Plus, once you do reconnect, it will sync up with the system.
So, with that, let’s begin in getting you setup with your Mac Computer.
Step 1: Open up Chrome
You’ll need to use Chrome in order to do this. If you don’t have Chrome web browser, you can download it here: https://www.google.com/chrome/
Step 2: Go to App.Atticus.io
Once you’ve opened up chrome, go to app.atticus.io.
Step 3: Install the Atticus Web App
On the top right corner of the search bar you will see the below icon. Just click that and it will ask you if you want to install Atticus. Click install.

Step 4: Place Atticus where you want
Once you click install, it will go to your Chrome Apps file. However, to more easily access it, you can click and drag it into your Applications file or place it in your task bar so that you can easily access it when you want.

Using Atticus Offline
Now that you have Atticus on your computer, you can use it offline. All you need to do is open it up and verify that you’re logged in and select a book you want to work on.
The only things you can’t do while offline are:
- Import a document
- Export a document
- Change between books
And that’s it. The next time you connect to the internet, Atticus will sync up your online work and you’ll be golden. Enjoy!
